For my 2023 AP Art Portfolio, I decided to explore emotion through facial expressions. By using black and white, I pushed myself to examine which expressions best match the emotions they are meant to portray. The goal of the project was to explore the complex feelings and emotions many high schoolers, like myself, experienced. I started by focusing on faces and then expanded to the body, as many students hide what they are feeling internally and express it through their body language.
